Kinder Camp Day 4

Letter of the Day: Dd and Ee

Lauren came home from camp today and shares about her day more easily than she used to. She used to always respond with " I don't know or I don't remember" but now she always has something to share. Today she shared a new song that she learned:

Days of the Week
(Sung to the tune of The Addams Family)

Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)
There’s Sunday then there’s Monday
Tuesday then there’s Wednesday
Thursday then there’s Friday
And then there’s Saturday
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)

While she learned a lot in Pre-K she is learning things now that I always took for granted and never thought to teach her. She is doing great and having so much fun in Kindergarten camp.

Kindergarten Prep Day Camp

In preparation for Lauren's 1st day of Kindergarten in only 7 weeks we enrolled her in a Kindergarten Prep camp this summer offered by the Burbank Park and Recreation Department. Here is a picture outside of her classroom on her first day today.
At drop off we helped her find her cubbie, get her nametag and then it was hugs and kisses for us so she could get a seat for circle time.

As indicated in the above daily schedule, in this class they go through a typical day of Kindergarten including morning circle, role call, calendar, letter of the day and word of the day. They also spend time in a writing and craft center, have cooking or science then end with an afternoon circle and review.

Today's letter of the day was Aa.

She came home with a star student sticker and certificate. She reported having a good time despite a fall she had while playing outside and is ready for another fun day tomorrow!
